Simply Delicious / Dine with Saira, Manchester
So, I was on a wander around Manchester, there were food stalls. I like food stalls. There were samosa's on a food stall. I like samosa's. Inevitability of the snacking kind.
I wasn't expecting much, and like the best things, when you get more than you expect, the joy is a little sweeter. I certainly wasn't expecting such a taste sensation that was in fact "simply delicious"!
Lets keep it simple, great pastry, not as crisp as it could have been, but I was warned that they were not freshly out of the fryer , it was still exceptional though, The insides were a little mushy, but really to the benefit not detriment of the filling, it was lovely and moist, while still having texture, not like baby food - not too broken down.
The taste was incredible. The best filling on any samosa so far, spicy, tasty, just the right amount of seasoning and spice and so easy to eat. I could have eaten ten. The ratio of filling to pastry was perfect and the samosa was a good size. I could have eaten more than ten to be honest but we had already had lunch and I would have been a bit embarrassed to keep returning for more. I should try and get over those feelings.
The lady behind the counter did say she has visitors to the stall who travel just for their samosas and I can see why. I wish to have some fresh ones, they could produce a 9 or even 9.5 if fresh.
I will be back here, I will definitely be back. Perhaps all the way to Manchester, just for samosas. The stall was in Piccadilly gardens and not permanent, so check ahead if visiting.
